Tips and Tricks For Puerto Rico Travel

If you’re dreaming of warmer weather and craving a luxurious retreat, we welcome you to visit our beautiful Caribbean island and San Juan hotel. Whether you want to enjoy lounging by the pool, decadent dinners or exciting daytime adventures, Puerto Rico provides plenty of options. And planning your one-of-a-kind trip to Puerto Rico will be as easy as possible if you keep these tips and tricks in mind.

No Passport? No Problem!

No need to expedite your passport renewal for this trip since travelers are not required to bring a passport with them when traveling to Puerto Rico as it is considered a U.S. Territory. In fact, Puerto Rico is only one of two destinations in the Caribbean that do not require a U.S. Passport to enter. Squeeze a driver’s license or other valid form of photo ID in your Louis Vuitton and you’ll be cleared to take flight and enjoy a luxurious stay at your San Juan hotel.

Direct Transportation

Travelers can enjoy numerous direct flights to Puerto Rico from major cities all around the US, such as Miami, NY, Chicago, and many more. Take flight once and when you come back down you will land in our tropical paradise. Even better, the airport is only a quick 15 minutes away from the luxurious Condado Vanderbilt, so you can have a glass of champagne in your hand at your San Juan hotel within an hour of touching ground.

Suitcase Essentials:

Packing for any trip can be one of the most exciting parts to get you in the vacation mindset. Here are a few essentials that you should be sure to have on hand:

  • To Relax: Bathing suit, flip-flops and sunglasses, as there is no shortage of warm weather here in Puerto Rico so you’ll want to maximize your time at the luxe Condado Vanderbilt Beach club and Pool.
  • To Sightsee: Make sure to bring comfortable shoes and casual wear so that you can enjoy our beautiful city, whether you are window shopping in Condado or exploring nearby Old San Juan.
  • To Workout: Activewear and sneakers, to enjoy the invigorating wellness and fitness classes offered daily at our San Juan hotel.
  • To Go Out: Little black dresses and sport coats to wear out to our luxurious, award winning restaurants and lounges.

Language Tips:

While the dominant language in Puerto Rico is Spanish, there is no need to run out and purchase Rosetta Stone since our staff here at the Condado Vanderbilt and most locals speak English beautifully as their second language. That said, we always encourage our guests to immerse themselves in the culture and have fun with the Spanish language. There are free and reliable online translating services, such as Google Translate, that can all be accessed via our free Wifi at the hotel. Here are a few of our favorite phrases that we think will come in handy during your stay at the Condado Vanderbilt:

    • Goodmorning / Goodnight: Buenos días / Buenas noches
    • Where is the beach? ¿Dónde está la playa?
    • Can I please have a cocktail? Puedo por favor tomar un cóctel.

Traveling to Puerto Rico is always a breeze and the time spent here is always memorable. Still have more questions? The Condado Vanderbilt staff can answer any other questions you may have to make your tropical retreat at our San Juan Hotel as luxurious and seamless as possible. Give us a call today!
